Rendered as MP3 Files

The CMRMIDImp3 page features MP3 Renderings that have been created from selected MIDI files appearing on CMR and from gifted artists themselves. The latter is a departure from previous methods of streaming the collection,  but I think that as high-speed connectivity becomes more mainstream, MP3 will be the best way to relate to a listener how an artist interprets a certain music piece. The first artist whose works have been placed on the CMRMIDImp3 page are those of Gary D. Lloyd.   (UPDATE: The presence of Gary's work on the web has been minimized at this point, and CMR is privileged enough to be one of the last remaining sites to still offer it)  The next artist to appear is the original webmaster for The Classical MIDI Resource,  Dr. Ron Lubetsky.

Some of the MP3s listed below stream from this site, while others will link you to my other site on MP3.COM,  The CMR Players. 

The MP3s below and linked, have been created on state-of-the-art MIDI equipment, including GigaStudio 160 and the latest in ROM-based Synths.  It's also important to note that some of these MIDI selections were originally sequenced by other individuals, and the MP3 render of these pieces appear here, and/or on The CMR Players  sites with the creator's full blessing.  Additionally, these MIDI files have been modified to sound their best after the rendering process, even though 'best' can be subjective.  Also, let's face it - these are MIDI files that have been "rendered" by a computer.   If you acknowledge that fact, then your expectations will be such that you'll understand that these are not intended as replacements or peers of/to recordings featuring real instruments, but can serve as a pretty reasonable facsimile of the work they represent. They will certainly be useful to someone who wants to get a feel for a piece, who's never heard it, or doesn't have a recording of the work.

Holst, Gustavus (Gustav) Theodore (1874 - 1934) (British)

The Planets - Jupiter - Originally sequenced by Jack Deckard in 1995.  I re-mapped it to 3-port General MIDI and made significant modifications to the MIDI data. This piece is BIG, and even with the latest technology, portions still sound a bit thin. This project is about 7 years old, on and off, and still has a long way to go. (this is rev. 37)
